Wedding season is in full bloom and we are seeing so many fun, vibrant trends that we couldn’t wait to share! Here are five summer trends we are head over heels for.
1. LARGER THAN LIFE FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS
Floral arrangements are becoming more and more a part of the main story rather than being a small detail. Brides are saying their I do’s under beautiful arbors donned in bright blooms as well as including larger boutiques for not just themselves but their bridal party. Ask your florist for seasonal flowers such as poppy, sunflower, and hydrangea. My favorite way to showcase fresh flowers is by wearing a floral crown.
2. BRIGHT COLOR PALETTES
It’s finally summer and that means neutrals are out and bright, bold colors are definitely in! If you are having a summer wedding it is the perfect time to play around with a bright color palette. Mix it up! Pair colors such as peach with jewel tones, or vibrant magentas and turquoise. You can incorporate your palette into everything such as invites, floral arrangements, bridesmaids gowns and of course your menu!
3. MINIMALISTIC CAKES
While food walls give a whimsical feel to your reception, overly decorated wedding cakes are best for later seasons. Couples are going for minimalistic cakes such as “naked” cakes, drip cakes, and cakes that use fresh flowers rather than fondant. The heat also has a role in this you wouldn’t want to have a buttercream/ fondant cake where it can melt and bleed color. Ask your florists for leftover flowers from your arrangements to save as a cake topper!
4. PERSONALIZED DETAILS
No matter how big or how intimate your wedding is, personalized details with make all the difference! Showcasing your personalities through décor and details will make your wedding not only a wonderful experience for you but your guests as well. Play around with invitations (hand lettering has been a popular choice), have fun in your very own photo booth, and don’t forget to add personal touches.
5. INSTA-WORTHY FOOD WALLS
This has to be the most unique trend we've seen this season. During cocktail hour and the reception brides are opting for a fun twist on their dessert display. Instead of platters and stands full of various sweets, doughnut walls are becoming popular. A wall full of sprinkled doughnuts will definitely wow guests and make for an easy grab and go option, so there is more time for the dance floor!
